Today I'm going to be reviewing the very famous Ben Nye Banana Powder!
What Ben Nye Says:
Bella Luxury Powders:
Micro-milled for a silky texture, Luxury Powders are translucent with just a hint of color. Superior Matte Finish.
Review:
The powder comes in a transparent sifter jar with a twist lid. I wish the packaging was a little bit better so you could control the amount of powder you're taking out because you either take it out in the lid or your hand and a lot gets wasted.
It really is a very finely milled powder which makes it perfect to set your concealer.
I was so so so happy to get my hands on this baby! I've finally found a powder that does not make my face look ashy and ghost-like!
I use the ben nye banana powder to 'bake' my dark circles and to color correct the dark/pigmented portions of my face. Because of its yellowness it perfectly conceals the blueness of the veins under the eyes. I have really really deep dark circles so I use this on top of my orange corrector and regular concealer. This powder is great for my NC 30 skin and would suit almost any tanned skin tone!
I also sweep on a bit on my t-zone because it helps keep your face matte for hours! You might have to touch up after 3-4 hours though if you have really oily skin. For a girl with a very oily t-zone I can now freely moisturize and highlight my nose without the fear of looking like I just stepped out of the sauna!
It doesn't have a noticeable scent to it, it smells just like a regular powder.
I've been using the 1.05 oz sifter bottle for the past year and even after using it almost everyday I'm still not half way through!
Like I said I use it everyday and its become an essential part of my everyday makeup routine now, its a great buy and definitely friendly on the pocket!
In Conclusion:
The Yays:
- Covers your dark circles
- Keeps your face matte
- Good for people with yellow undertones
The Nays:
- Might have to touch up after a few hours
- Makes you look very yellow if applied excessively
- Product is wasted because of sifter
Rating:
4/5
Hope this was helpful!
Until next time!
